POST SCRIPT - 2004

This blog journal documents my transformative 6 month journey in SE Asia, through 5 countries and many different perspectives. I immersed myself as much as I could, into the local culture of Bali, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.

At the end of it, I was tired and challenged, but spiritually and intellectually rejuvenated. I have a broader perspective about my place and potential in the world, and renewed trust in my ideas, abilities, and long ignored intuition.

An uncomfortably long lasting culture shock, following reentry into the mostly Western culture of the USA, has enriched my viewpoint and sensitivity to the power of nurture over nature. My values and long term goals have shifted subtly, but with profound effects.

There are many ways to be in this world, and I'm grateful for the lessons of travel and the people that shared their lives and viewpoints along the way. Though still quite Western, my concept of I and We have merged.
