Hanoi, Vietnam

I'm unclear how I'll get from Hoi An, Vietnam to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and what I'll do after my Vietnam Visa runs out August 16th/17th. I'll have about 5 days before my Kuala Lumpur flight leaves for the USA. If I travel overland, I could spend all 5 days on busses and trains... an exhausting endeavor. Unfortunately, flying is much more expensive.
